Our history

Established in 2005

The Ernest Louis Webster Foundation serves as a living memorial dedicated to honoring and preserving the legacy of Ernest Louis Webster, a distinguished community activist and public servant.

Affectionately known as “Mr. Kingswood,” Ernie served as Program Coordinator for the Kingswood Community Center, where he devoted more than four decades to mentoring thousands of children from Wilmington’s Eleventh Street Bridge, Riverside, and Northeast communities. Through his unwavering commitment, he provided young people with positive guidance, encouragement, opportunity, discipline, and hope.

His extraordinary dedication to youth development and community service earned him widespread respect and admiration. The Foundation remains committed to advancing the values of service, leadership, education, and community empowerment that defined his life’s work.
